Ohme Home Pro installation

Ohme Home Pro installation

The Ohme is the tariff charger. It talks directly to time-of-use electricity plans and schedules charging into the cheapest half-hours on its own.

What it is for

What the Ohme Home Pro actually does

Most chargers let you set a timer. The Ohme goes further and integrates with the tariff itself, so when your supplier shifts the cheap window, the charging follows without you touching anything.

That matters more than it sounds. The saving from an EV tariff is real but only if you actually charge inside the window, and hand-set timers get forgotten the week the schedule changes.

Is it right for you

Who the Ohme Home Pro suits, and who it does not

Worth it if

  • Anyone on, or moving to, a smart EV tariff
  • People who want the cost handled rather than managed
  • Households without solar, where tariff timing is where the whole saving lives

Look elsewhere if

  • Houses with solar panels wanting surplus diversion, which the Ohme does not do the way a Zappi does
  • Anyone on a flat-rate tariff, where there is no cheap window to schedule into

Ohme Home Pro installation in Chesterfield and north Derbyshire

The installation is the same whichever unit goes on the wall: a dedicated circuit from your consumer unit, a cable route agreed with you first, then testing and certification. The unit choice changes the hardware cost, not the shape of the job.

You can supply the Ohme Home Pro yourself and pay for installation only, or have it supplied as part of the job. Say which at enquiry stage, because it changes what gets quoted.

Installation explained covers the job itself, and the cost breakdown covers what moves the price.

Questions

Ohme Home Pro questions

How much does an Ohme Home Pro cost installed?

Typically £950 to £1,150 fitted, with the unit around £539. The installation half depends on your cable run and consumer unit rather than on the choice of unit.

Does the Ohme work with Octopus Intelligent?

Tariff integration is what the Ohme is built around, and the major smart EV tariffs are supported. Check the current supported list with your supplier before buying, because these arrangements change.

Can an Ohme use solar panels?

Not in the surplus-diversion sense. If matching the charge to your generation is the priority, look at a Zappi or a Hypervolt instead.

Is the Ohme tethered or untethered?

The Home Pro is tethered, so the lead is attached and there is nothing to carry in the boot.
