Who we are and who installs your charger
Chesterfield EV Chargers is a local website that connects people who want an EV charger with an installer who can fit one. Progressive Website Development Ltd runs it, registered in England and Wales under company number 07714132.
We are not the electrician. We do not employ electricians and we do not fit chargers ourselves. What we do is find local installers, check their qualifications, registrations and insurance, and send your enquiry to one of them.
From that point the installer deals with you directly. They survey the property, give you the quote, do the work and issue the certificate. You pay them, and your contract is with them.
Using this site is free. We charge you nothing, whether or not you go ahead. Your enquiry goes to one installer and no one else, and we never sell your details or pass them to a lead broker.

Your price
What decides the price you are quoted
A price given without looking at your electrics is a guess. Three things decide what the job costs: your main fuse, your consumer unit and how the property is earthed. The installer checks all three before quoting.
That means the survey comes first and the price comes second. If your supply is close to its limit, the cost of load management or an upgrade is in the quote you accept. It does not appear later as an extra on the bill.

Credentials
What we check before an installer gets your job
Every installer passes six checks before we send them any work. We check they are registered with NAPIT or an equivalent government-approved scheme, and we check it against the scheme's own register rather than a logo on their website. We check their TrustMark registration, their public liability insurance and its expiry date, their City and Guilds qualifications and their EV charge point experience, the written guarantee they give on their own workmanship, and their reviews on platforms where anyone can read them.
A copy of your installer's insurance certificate goes out with your quote, so you can check it yourself rather than take our word for it.

What an EV charger installation involves
Three stages of one installation. First the consumer unit is opened and checked for spare capacity. Then the finished circuit is tested and the readings written down. Last the charger goes on the wall, along the cable route you agreed beforehand.
